This is actually a bare drive repackaged by other than the manufacturer. The item is not described as such. However, the device tests as new, so I will choose to trust the seller for now. I have two of these that are over three years old and showing wear now (slowing), so I will update if this drive appears to age too quickly.Update:Did my first significant r/w activity on the drive. Decompressing the Android NDK which performed incredibly slow. I then did some bench-marking and was very disappointed with the results. My initial suspicions appear correct. These are not new drives, they've been firmware-altered to zero out the lifetime. I have two of these drives in other machines that are three years old and slowing down, but still outperform this new drive by far. This will be heading back to Amazon...

This is one of the better drives to purchase because it uses MLC NAND, which is more reliable and lasts longer than TLC NAND based drives common in cheaper SSDs.

The drive I received seemed to be brand new and legit, but I received just the drive itself in a static bag with no original box and nothing else with it. The drive also had an HP sticker stuck on it. When I checked the drive in Crystal Disk Info it said the drive had 0 hours on it and had only been powered up once (which was from when I powered it to check it), so it was indeed unused.

The drive seems to perform well in the machine I installed it in and has no issues so far.

Excellent Solid State Drive. I have only used hard disk drives until now, so I was very surprised by the increase in speed. Not only did my start up speed increase, but performance increased as well. Games I had difficulty running before the purchase now run without any problems. The device was too small to fit into my tower, however I was able to tape it in and it has not had any issues over the past 2 months and I do not anticipate it to have any issues any time soon.
The device does not come with any cables to install it into your tower, but it did not advertise that so I am not surprised. Overall there really is not much to say about it other than it is a great product. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an upgrade to their hard disk drive.

Had to return it.. would not work with my laptop.. purchased a Samsung and had no issues.. Drive was fine.. but it is not compatible with everything. I spent days trying to make it work before i found the reviews that said it didn't work on specific machines.

Fantastically fast unit. After upgrading from mechanical hdd, my boot time went down from 3 mins to 25secs! (Even video editing is 1/5 the read/write time) Had to tweak windows 7 pro (64bit) to stop or disable features used to speed up spinning hard drive services. The wear on Ssd is also reduced when traditional spinning hdd features are disabled. Traditional file indexing actually slows Ssd! I recommend this drive, although it is considered older model than the newer crucial or Samsung Ssd. Cost of newer computers on the upgrade is 7 times than upgrading a five year old computer to Ssd. Worth every penny for the speed. I'm enjoying the use of my old computer again. Will upgrade my older 6 yrs old computer with similar drive soon. Only hassle of after upgrade are the tweaks and effort to disable the hdd features. Hey, I'm not a computer geek yet I could make the technical upgrade with a precision screwdriver, computer parts manual and follow online help to disable the hdd features - about 8 to 12 features depending on o/s.
Unless the brand crucial doesn't hold up to its brand, I expect the my notebook will last another 5 years. No exciting computers on the market these days. Get a really good and reliable mouse, upgrade to crucial Ssd is the way to save for a better experience.

I was surprised when it mentioned speeds of 6 Gb/s for SATA protocol but I thought it was a hyped up Multi cell performing miracles. After testing it on two machiness with different settions/protocols, I barely got 300 Mb/s read and lower write speeds out of it, i.e. 3 times faster than an old 5400 rpm laptop hard drive. My NVME drives pull 1.5-2 Gb/s, so really no comparison there. Now I have to spend more time sending it back. Disappointing.

Was a great deal at the time. Only 4 months in and it has already started producing S.M.A.R.T errors that are not correctable. Drive is starting to fail. I've reached out to the seller for Warranty info as they state a 3 year warranty with the product. Seller was amazing and processed a full refund as product wasnt available. Would def buy from seller again!!
